Learn Guitar the Best Way...
Using Music YOU Love!
I hear it from new students all the time: how their last teacher only wanted them to learn to play a certain song or two—maybe it was even something terribly outdated, that the player had no interest in learning or playing. Sometimes students tell me a previous learning experience made them feel as if they were being shoehorned into something that really wasn't a good fit for them, and that their instructor—as well-intentioned as they may have been—only knew how to guide students through that one particular path (probably the same one their instructor led them through years ago).
Usually I can make a big difference very quickly with students like that, simply by first asking them what they like to listen to (and what they would like to learn to play), and then formulating their lesson plans based on that. Sounds easy, right? It is an easy concept, but it means that the instructor has to tailor every lesson to each individual student—which is not as easy, from the instructor's point of view, as having every student follow the same path and play the same music.
But I go that extra mile because I want to be sure that every student that I teach gets the best education that they can get, which means it has to be specifically designed with that student in mind. I try to get as much feedback from and involvement with the student as possible when it comes to the material that I base each lesson on, so that it's as applicable to that particular student as possible. That's effort that I put in for every lesson, for every student, every single week...can your guitar instructor say the same thing?
My name is Stephen Carrington, and I own and operate Stephen's Guitar Lessons out of Marietta, Georgia. I offer private guitar lessons online and in person, and I also have a merch store with a lot of helpful tools for guitarists (and some t-shirts and stickers, too!) that I've created. I'm proud to be one of the longest-running independent guitar instructors in the metro Atlanta area, and I feel confident that few (if any) other music teachers offer such high-quality instruction, plus the "wow, he's thought of everything" level of support and service, as well as the bonuses/freebies/extras/et cetera that I provide for my students every day.
