So how can a little guy like Stephen's Guitar Lessons pull off a feat like selling pedals and other accessories for prices that are better than what everyone else—not just the big stores, but everyone else—sells them for?  Well, there are several reasons: without staff, a warehouse full of products, and a giant physical footprint in a high-traffic commercial/retail area, I have far less overhead than they do; I sell exclusively to my students, which limits my need for expensive advertising; with most big stores, they really don't/can't care all that much about an individual customer or sale because they are focused on outselling their competitors and pleasing their shareholders...but I focus on satisfying the needs of my students, and sometimes that means they get an amazing price on a piece of gear; and not the least important are the facts that 1) I am a lessons provider first and foremost, and 2) providing these accessories deals is a perk that I want my students to have—this is a service that I'm happy to be able to provide to my students, and so I pass almost all of the savings along to my students.
